Kansui is situated in North Kyoto, away from the hustle and bustle of the city left. For our precious customers, we are delighted to arrange a pick-up service from Kitayama station on Subway Karasuma line to the premises (5 minutes’ drive). To meet a driver, please provide your phone number in advance. We would like to dispatch a MK taxi driver to meet you at Exit 3 at Kitayama station. Round trip taxi fare is included in your fee.
Kansui literally means the circulation of greenery. It is a miracle to have the nature of Kyoto been preserved as it is. From the guest room, the audience can experience the changing of four seasons through the garden.
Plums in the early spring, then azalea to irises. In the summer, there are several kinds of lilies. In the autumn, red and yellow leaves with bush clovers. And in the winter, there are few colours in the garden, but the pictures of sliding doors by the 11th generation of Karacho, the paper craftsman will amuse you.
Our creed is Wakon-Yosai (Japanese spirit with Western learning). The course begins with the Western hors d'oeuvre, then some seasonal dishes with the Japanese style of soup, and finishes with the Western dessert.
Our uncompromising selection of tableware will create the perfect combination with the seasonal and delicate cuisines.
In order to value our precious guests, we are accepting only two groups per day.
We are serving course menus only.

What makes Japanese cuisine unique is probably the dashi culture, a class of soup and cooking stock. Kansui uses the highest grade of kombu (kelp) and dried bonito for the soup. Every process is paid a highly professional attention, and done by manually. All the courses include our specialty of soup.
While you are in Kyoto, you should not miss any chance to try Kyo-yasai, the Kyoto crafted traditional vegetables. There are several kinds of vegetables officially registered to this category, and they will be prepared for you in a perfect cooking styles and shapes.
All the courses can be served both for lunch time and dinner time.
Course A: 15,000yen + 8% tax
Course B: 30,000yen + 8% tax
Course C: 50,000yen + 8% tax
Price of course will differ depending on the ingredients of the day and our historically-valuable tableware.
